Merkon Constructions P/L based in Morrabbin VIC
Foundation Solution:
Australian Foundation Systems carried out the Design, Manufacture, Installation & Certification of the alternative Screw Pile Foundations System including the Pile Caps Design as a cost effective solution for the original Concrete Bored Pile Design. A large number of Raked Piles (32 off for the FOR THE) were required at the Lift / Stair Core Area and at both Footing Beams due to the large lateral loads and bending moments imposed on the structure due to the fact only 2 ends of the structure are to be completely closed in. Column & Pile Loads for the structure varied from 450kN up 2100kN with up to 250kN of lateral loads at pile cap locations. Australian Foundation Systems installed multiple (2 – 4 x piles) in each of the approx. 50 off x pile caps to depths of approx. 9metres below EGL into the Hard Clay strata. All screw piles were concrete filled by Australian Foundation Systems for this project. Screw Pile CHS varied from 168 x 7.1mm – 219 x 8.2mm.
